How to set up your Etisalat and Du

So, you’ve got your place to live all sorted.  You’ve got your DEWA account set up.  You’ve got everything ready to go and you’ve just bought a brand new TV and you’re ready to get yourself set up with a TV, internet and home phone package.

You might be tempted to see if you can save money by just going for an internet package but beware, for some nutty reason, the cheapest packages are all-in-ones.

In Dubai, you have only two decisions for TV, internet and phone providers.  Those are Etisalat and Du.

Etisalat, headquartered in Abu Dhabi is the longer running of the two telecom companies in the UAE.  Etisalat was set up in 1976 while Du, headquartered in Dubai, is much newer being set up in 2005.

The packages offered by both companies are very similar in offering and very similar in price.  The deciding factor will likely be which one of them is already operating in your area or building.

Some areas will only be covered by Etisalat whilst others will be covered by Du.

You won’t need to worry about your Etisalat or Du connections from a cheap hotel in Dubai.

Here’s a quick comparison of Etisalat and Du’s packages and their prices.
